Aerin Lauder Launches Aerin LLC

"The Estée Lauder brand announced a new collaboration with Aerin Lauder and Aerin LLC, her new luxury lifestyle brand, the formation of which was announced earlier today. Under the arrangement, Ms. Lauder will continue to be actively involved in the Estée Lauder brand, serving as creative consultant and becoming its Style and Image Director. She will also continue as the brand’s global ambassador and spokesperson (...) Ms. Lauder will also remain a member of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. Board of Directors, which she joined in 2004. (...) The Estée Lauder brand will be the exclusive beauty partner to Aerin LLC in launching a beauty line under the AERIN name to be sold at select Estée Lauder counters. (...) Aerin LLC is a stand-alone company wholly owned by Aerin Lauder." (from press release)

The phrase "lifestyle brand" makes me gag a little. The presumption/smugness of this is so off-putting. Or is it just me? Perhaps I am just envious of Aerin's fabulous "lifestyle."

I really like Aerin's image, it's probably the sorority girl in me however.

I'm a little unclear on what she is DOING, though. Capsule collections at select Estee Lauder counters?

If you believe Estee Lauder marketing, Aerin has played a major role in the Private Collection fragrance line, which to me speaks well of her taste. But we'll see. I a bit of an Estee Lauder fanatic which is maybe unusual for a late twentysomething.

So does this affect the Tom Ford brand with Estee Lauder? (or visa vera)
