Only three? Yikes! Let's just say I'm randomly picking three of my top fave 300. I'll go w/ Richard Butler's Good Days, Bad Days, Peter Tosh's Stepping Razor (or Coming in Hot) and EBTG's Troubled Mind or The Road. The second I post this I'm going to start agonizing over ones I didn't choose. :-( Must learn how to make decisive, short lists this year.
I hope you feel better soon too....
Good topic since my ipod (and many other items) were stolen last week and I could use some new ideas for when it gets replaced. I actually bought the soundtrack Juno just before it was stolen and was enjoying that for something different.

I'm with Elle, I've got thousands of songs on my iPod and I feel like I'm betraying them all by choosing only three :)Also, the entire soundtrack to the movie Practical Magic.....And Garden State and and and and and and and.........

I was in a similar state last week, hence no perfume reviews. All I wore was Louve for five days straight (go ahead, laugh).My all time favorite song is Into My Arms by Nick Cave. Second place goes to PJ Harvey's song The Mess We're In. Third is Annie Waits by Ben Folds.

From Marc Broussard'e bluesy, soulful rock album "Carenco": (you might have heard the terrific "Home" on the radio last year) check out "The Wanderer".
marina, i hope you feel better soon! i would recommend some music, but i listen to goth and darkwave - someone once told me my music made him want to slit his wrists cause it was so depressing, so my faves probably won't be good for a sick person!
tom, if you see this, i wanted to tell you that i tried noir epices after reading your post on it in january, and ... i couldn't smell it. so i put on a whole bunch more, but i still couldn't smell it. i got the very faintest whiff of orange right at the top, and pepper. oddly, the super-faint pepper stayed until i woke up the next day! it also made my lips start to go numb after close sniffing, which seems bizarre, but it's actually happened to me before (passage d'enfer, but at least i could smell that.)
so, i'm curious - has anyone had any weird anosmic experiences like that before? so far, i can't smell narciso rodriguez for her, noir epices and - horror of horrors - bois des iles! please let me know if this is common, or my nose is just insane.
Alright, Obviously I skimmed the last paragraph and just read "iPod" and "suggestions" and I'll never do that again, I promise no more skimming and I'll follow the rules. I'm sorry for the laundry list above.
I wouldn't be able to think of 3 songs anyway, though. Nothing is coming to mind, oddly enough. There is only 35,000 songs on my iPod - apparently I don't like any of them, I dunno...

The new Robert Plant/Alison Krauss album is amazingly good, you must listen to it.
Marina, anything from the Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis Cookbook Vols 1, 2 and 3 should make you feel more energetic - but maybe you should leave those for when you're recovering. For now, there's a new Diane Krall recording which is very restful - make Mr. Colombina get it for you. And I do hope you get better very soon.

1. "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. - probably my favorite song of ALL time. Problem is you can't understand why it is so great unless you have had a broken heart.
2. "New Year's Day" by U2 - after all these years, still the best song they ever did, IMHO.
3. "Michelangelo" by Emmylou Harris - impossible to describe why I love it, but maybe words are not needed. OK, ANYTHING by Emmy is good!
