Another Random Friday: a Poll and a Prize Draw

So for some reasons Fridays are not review-friendly. It's all about randomness again, but personally I enjoy a bit of a general, not perfume-related talk once in a while. So how about a short poll?

1. Perfumes you are enjoying the most these days?

2. Read anything good lately?

3. Three favorite songs at the moment?

4. Favorite sandwich/sub/hoagie/panini?

5. Favorite TV show?

6. Last good movie you saw?

(Me:
1. Lipstick Rose and Le Pot Aux Roses
2. Nope, am in a book rut. Am suffering through Dior's autobiography. It turns out, Dior was a genius couturier but not the most exciting writer
3. Patricia Kaas Il Me Dit Que Je Suis Belle, Anne Lennox Thousand Beautiful Things, S. Pieha and G. Lepps Ona Ne Tvoya
4. "Spicy Italian"
5. The Millionaire Matchmaker. That's right, I watch that.
6. I thought that casting of Kevin Smith as Warlock in Live Free or Die Hard was genius)

And now for the sample prize draw. If you would like to receive several Stephanie de Saint-Aignan samples (Amande Honorable, Berberiades, Berberiades Extreme, Blanc d'Hiver, L'Eau Nirique, Li Altarelli), please say so in your comment. The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday.

3. Annie Lennox's cover of "Waiting In Vain", Kylie Minogue "Wow" & Keane "Crystal Ball"
4. Cold Cut Trio
5. "Whose Line Is It Anyway" Both US & UK series.
6. Juno

1.L'A's La Chasse aux Papillons. Even though it's snowed for the last 3 days here in the Colorado Rockies, screw it! I declare it spring! So be it! Okay, okay, so it's really not yet spring, so I can still wear my Rose Muskisimee, right? And all my other dark rose scents? Yeah, they're year round for me.
2.I haven't read anything lately I can't put down...even Chandler's "The Perfect Scent". Interesting, but not fascinating.
3.Carlos Santana & Chad Kroeger's "Into the Night". Chad Kroeger is a recent discovery...I'm late, I know, but thank goodness my two teenage sons keep me up on some of it. Love Chad's "I Wanna be a Rock Star", and almost anything else Nickelback does.
4.French Dip
5.Charley Rose
6."No Country for Old Men" Art Film! Now this movie fascinated me! Had to see it twice to catch all the nuances. Read all the blogs with interpretations about the REAL meaning of the movie. I think it's about Chance...

Please add me also to the drawing.
Happy SPRING!

1. Lalique Encre Noir. Its deep dark rooty vetiver is yummy, calm, cool, and collected on me. And of course Possets' Gingerbread Whorehouse (yes, it's real, and it's pure buttery spicy fabulousness-- I only wish it wasn't an oil, because I would love to spray with abandon.)

2. I just finished "You Suck" by Christopher Moore. I didn't love it, but it was fun and frothy. I am also wallowing through "What to Expect When You're Expecting." (I'm not, but here's hoping that soon I will be.)

3. Well... right now I am mad for Rock Band, so I have to give Rock Band songs. I love singing Sprode by Freezepop, Reptilia by the Strokes, and... yes, I really do love singing the theme song, "Highway Star." I'm the only person I know to consistently score in the high 90s singing it too, so there.

4. Fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and ripe tomatoes with a drizzle of olive oil. Yum.

5. I re-watch things. M*A*S*H. Scrubs. I think my very favorite show will always be Metalocalypse -- oh, or Home Movies. I love Brendan Small and think he is a genius.

6. Wow, I can't remember. I've seen a string of bad ones. I think the last good movie I RE-watched was V for Vendetta (which I know has its flaws but is both fun and thoughtful, and very restrained with the music.)

I would love to be added to the drawing!

C,
You will love Gotham. Has the same gauzy type feel as L'air de Rien. Doesn't smell the same but has a place and time feeling to it. Does that make sense? Also, I adore how his scents transition. Genius!

Hi Annie and 2scents,
Speaking of "Omnivore's Dilemna", Have you read any of Michael Pollan's other books? If not, definitely do so--they are wonderful. Especially "The Botany of Desire." "Second Nature" and "A Place of My Own" are also really good. I think he has a new one out too...
PS: I agree about Marion Cotillard--the Edith Piaf actress. She is gorgeous and so classy. I can't wait to see the movie--my hubby and I have tried renting it but every time we check, all copies are rented out (we have checked 3 times this week alone!).

1. L'Eau de Jatamansi by L'Artisan Parfumeur. I find it really intriguing.

2. Working on "Perfect Scent" - about halfway done, and like it a lot. Last one I really loved was "The Poincare Conjecture - In Search of the Shape of the Universe" by Donal O'Shea. Math, history, and beauty for non-math-heads. Extremely cool.

3. Barlow Girl I Need You to Love Me, Nichole Nordeman Brave, and Taylor Swift Teardrops on my Guitar.

4. Turkey & Feta Panini at the local coffee shop / jazz bar.

5. American Idol or Mythbusters. Mb is like Nova for delinquents. And Futurama does rock, I agree!

6. Last "interesting" movie was Cloverfield. Last good one was probably 300. I haven't seen any of this year's Oscar crop yet, but they all look great - especially NCFOM and Juno. Can't wait to see them.

Drawing, please! I'm an old dog cologniac, but a scentosphere newbie, and I need samples desperately.
