Scents by Alexis Venus in Furs, Eve's Revenge and Vixen and a Giveaway
The final three scents in my package, I'd covered the other ones here and here. Venus in Furs lists spicy amber, freesia, vanilla and florals. There's a powdery note to it that keeps is just this side of Velvet Underground, but only just; it's sweet young flesh doing rather outre things at places like the Chelsea hotel. Karl writes "This is your secret password". I might be a touch too old to enter that club.. Eve's Revenge is so not me: a green apple sweetness that reminds me of candy or gum. Luckily that's just the opening. It deepens into amber, still sweet, but then this is Eve's revenge not Adam's. Vixen gets back into territory I'm happier in: coffee and berries, bone dry with that sly sillage and a bright blackberry note that's delightful. All of these are available at her website in I might add some really gorgeous hand-finished bottles. Labels: Scents by Alexis, Tom |

These sound very interesting. I am not sure I can handle coffee in perfume but Vixen does sound interesting.. Of all these, Goddess, Femme fatale and Black Valentine sound like the ones I need to get my hands (or nose..:)) on..From the notes I think I might also like Venus in Furs..mayybe..
Thank you for the reviews, Tom!
Oh and please include me in the draw..Thanks!
Please do enter me in the draw, I have been lusting for for Duchess and Femme Fatale, and now I really want the coffee & blackberry one too. Delicious!

They sound really interesting, I would love to try them. Please enter me in the draw.
I just wanted to add that Alexis has some limited editions, too! My favorite is Black Magic--stunning anise note with an earthy base. And its "sister" scent, White Magic.
I have samples so no need to include in the drawing...~Mindy~
Ya know, I'd completely forgotten these after reading your 1st review on them. Oils never much work for me & even though you posted that they'd turned it all around for you somehow ... I forgot. But ok, you've got me hooked. Need to smell. Please include me in draw. *off to make notes on which of these I need to sniff*
Please enter me in the draw - I would love to try these. Thanks!
Fabulous, I would love to be entered in the draw for a chance to try them!

Ooooh... some of these sound absolutely luscious. My fancy is particularly taken by Goddess and Venus in Furs.
Thanks for your evocative writing, Tom. Please enter me in the draw - thanks again!
Please enter me in the draw. I so enjoy trying different scents--I surprise myself at what I end up liking. (I also enjoy reading your blog on a regular basis--I learn so much!)
These sound delicious. I am hoping that they ring true to their notes. Perfume is an interpretation of experience. Sharing olfactory blends and scent memory with the world opens you up to criticism and gossip. I have not tried any of Alexis' creations but look very forward to doing so soon.
These sound amazing. I would love to be able to try them
Please include me. Thanks!
I would love to try Duchess, Femme fatale, and Balck Valentine, and from your recommendation some coffee too.So please enter me in the drawing. Thank You!

I haven't tried any of these, in fact, prior to reading your reviews, I hadn't heard of these either. I would love to try them, though. I'd love to try everything actually! Please include me in the draw.

Please enter me to the draw, I would love to test these!
Now I have to decide if I'm a Duchess or a Vixen:) Thanks for reviewing these, I hadn't heard of this line before.
Don't need to be in the draw because I've tried all of these, but just wanted to say that I loved seeing your take on these. Vixen really is a bone dry scent - for some reason not something I expect from oils. Her bottles are probably my favorites of all my collection. Simply stunning. My only complaint is that I don't like for scents to last too long on my skin since I like to switch off during the day, but her scents last *forever* on me...but that's just a personal quirk and probably wouldn't be a problem for most people.
Your reviews of this line have me totally curious. I'd love to be in the draw for the samples.
Does being too old for the club mean I shoudn't wear the perfume? Venus in Furs sounds awfully good to me, but I am decidedly middle-aged. Do you think I should avoid it?
I'd love to be entered for a chance to win, thank you!
Just visited her website, and the bottles look stunning. I would love to sample these--they sound wonderful. Thanks for the opportunity to be in the draw.

Femme Fatale and Vixen sound gorgeous, I would love to have one of these cure my current disenchantment with new perfumes phase. Thank you for the reviews.
Lordy, my dear !
I sniffed a few at Bendel's-
A long time ago-
And KICKED myself for not buying.
My dear round ass is now black'n' blue.
May I join the partay, s'il vous plait ?
Merci !

I've read "Venus in Furs".

I love those fruits, apple and blackberry, though I don't think I've found an apple that stands up in a "real" perfume yet. Please throw me into the draw. Thanks!
