Proposed Tauer Gabriel Project
By Kelley OK, so I received this sample of an upcoming Andy Tauer scent called Gabriel (I am assuming that it is named after the Archangel Gabriel but I think he should call this one Raphael, but more on that later). My proposal is that four or five other people volunteer to write short reviews of this scent, along with me to be posted here on Perfume Smellin' Things. I will test it and write my review and then mail the sample to the next person on my list. This person will test it for a couple of days and then write their review and email the review to me. They will then snail-mail the sample to the next person on the list and so on until the last person gets it. This project was sort of inspired by one of Andy's projects that has traveled around the world (I was lucky enough to participate in that project). So, who would like to review this new scent with me? The reviews can be short, just a paragraph or two. The reviews will be combined into one glorious group review. You will have to pay the postage to the next reviewer but the cost should be minimal. The purpose of this project is to FORCE Andy to get off his butt and release this scent! I have asked Andy for months and it still isn't on the schedule. If I can just get some public demand going.... If you would like to volunteer, please leave a response along with your email address. Winners will be chosen out of a hat by me (Kelley). Image credit, Who is She Who Comes Shining Like the Rising Dawn... Copyright 2005 Kelley Vandiver Labels: Andy Tauer |

I would love to review a new Tauer fragrance!
Oh, what a great idea! I'm working on a journaling project in which I'm circulating four journals around the world, having strangers write in them. So this seems an extension of that project. I'd love to be in it!

can I throw my hay in?
Ooh! I'd love to sample and review this scent. Love Andy's scents!!

I'll play! I'd love to review this.
I'm game.
How fun is this!
I would absolutely love to throw my name in the hat. I missed out on the hyacinth and a mechanic go around and begged him to send me some. Alas, the incredibly sweet and generous Andy had none left. He is so kind, but I promise to be objective if you pull my name.

Thanks
Reviewing Andy's fragrance way before it is released? I want a chance definitely. :)
Kelley, I love your painting, as always.
I love your idea. I'm not a perfume reviewer, but just wanted to tell you I think the painting is amazing! Love the title of it too. :-)
I would definitely be game for this! Let's get Andy on the move...
I'd like to review this! I adore AT! mdixie17@gmail.com
Oooh, I would love to do a review! Count me in:

This would be fun. I'd love to be part of the reviewing team.
Kelley,
Fun idea! A nice way to share the sample love...and a nice little homage to Andy's Hyacinth & a Mechanic project.
Please toss my name in the hat, and thank you! (I will get you my e-mail if I am chosen to be part of the chain.)
Have filed away "find out why K thinks Raphael is a better name" --don't forget! :)
I would love the opportunity to participate in this project! Please consider me for the drawing.
Thanks,
Lora
yes, toss my name into the mix, too, please. i am also supercurious as to why you think its mis-named?
I'm hopeless at reviewing anything, so I'm depending on the people you choose to tell me all about it! And if you can get Andy to release this one, hooray!
What a great idea. I'm looking forward to reading all the reviews.
To all of you who have responded...thanks! Let's end the drawing tonight at midnight, that way I don't have to disappoint too many people. After all, it's just a small sample, although, it's very strong and one spray will do it. The winners will be posted soon.
Lady Jane Grey, thank you so much for your compliment!
Em, thank you too!
Now, to all that asked about the name, Gabriel, and why I think it should be Raphael. Well, Gabriel is the Archangel of the Annunciation as well as the angel of the "last day", he or she is, according to legend, to wake the dead at the coming of the savior (being a confirmed heathen it's difficult for me to type this). Gabriel is associated with the direction--west, and the color--blue. Remember, angels traditionally aren't either men or women.
Raphael, on the other hand, is the Archangel associated with the east. He/she is called the "healer" and is often seen in paintings standing next to a well and holding a fish. Raphael's color is green which brings us back to this scent of Andy's. It is very, very green!!! I love it. I have never smelled anything like it. I don't want to give too many of my impressions as I want to leave that until later.
Hope that helps explain my comment.
Andy's new scent? I am SO there, please consider me for the honor!
(I wanted the Hyacinths & A Mechanic very badly, still pouting that it was never released...)
Don't know if you've chosen, but I'd love to go in the hat!

I would love to write a review on Gabriel by Tauer. Do count me in.
Brilliant idea!
OOOOhh what a lovely idea. I find his scents fascinating and would love to be part of this exploration. Fingers crossed and wrist at the ready.

How about me!? I'd love to review it!
The winners have been chosen. Thanks to all that participated!!!
Oooh, please add me to the drawing! I love AT.
The list of winners will be posted soon. However, it has been my experience that nothing is set in stone and some of you might yet be chosen. Especially if I don't hear from the winners within a reasonable amount of time. Time is of the essence and I would love to post this group review before the end of the year!!!
Wait a minute, this fragrance has not been officially released yet and as far as I know it has not even been fully developped by Andy Tauer!
What are you doing? This is not right.
Has Andy Tauer given you any permission for this? I do not think so.
Oi Querida
Eu adoraria participar.
Porém perdi o prazo de envio.
Existe possibilidade ?
PS: Tenho uma colaboradora tradutora no blog. Ela traduz e corrige meu péssimo inglês
Hi Dear
I would adore to participate! However I lost the sending stated period. Exists possibility?
PS: I have a collaborating translator in my blog. She translates and corrects my bad English
Perfumes Bighouse...Lo siento. El concurso ha terminado. Gracias por intentarlo!
Ooops, and one other thing. Andy gave his permission. The only sad news (see other post) is that the sent won't be released.
How fun is this!
