Spy Game: Espionage by Ayala Moriel
By Marina "Tom Bishop: I thought spies drank martinis. Nathan Muir: Scotch, never less than twelve years old. Tom Bishop: Is that right? Agency rules? Nathan Muir: My rules" Spy Game Tell me honestly that you never wanted to be a spy. Glamorous one, obviously. The leather trench, the hat, the cigarette, the lines. "You go off the reservation, I will not come after you"...I want to be Nathan Muir in a skirt. Natalia Muir, then, since any self-respecting spy has to have a Russian first name. I already have the accent. The appropriately named Espionage by Ayala Moriel is the olfactory equivalent of that Natalia. Wonderfully fleshy, husky scotch note? Check! Fairly tarry yet soft leather? Check! Smoke elegantly puffed in your face? Check! And very importantly, the deceivingly velvety, subtly seductive sweetness of the vanillic base? Check! I make an emphasis on subtly, because we, modern day spies, don't do the heavy lidded seduction a la Mata Hari. This is not even an overtly feminine fragrance, Nathan could wear it as well as Natalia. In other words, a perfect scent to feel thrillingly dangerous on your way to your cover-up day job. Look for it at ayalamoriel.com, $12.00-$190.00. Before you go, one more piece of advice: "Don't ever risk your life for an asset. If it comes down to you or them... send flowers." Agent M,
sounds perfect for our purposes.
This message is going to self-destruct in a few minutes.
Natalia,
I've been touting this one for a few years now; everyone seems to overlook it. :-( Maybe it's just too dangerous for some.
The spotted dodo flies at night. Don't trust the man with the purple umbrella.

Good luck with the operation Windsor Jewels. :)

Dodo hasd fled. Eagle has landed.
I recently got to try this and a couple of other AMs. Love Finjan as well.
Your post reminds me just how personal fragrance is. The thought of smeling like scotch, cigarettes, and musk absolutely repels me. To you it conjures up images of mystery and intrigue. To me, it brings up images of unwashed drunks in bars. Fragrance really is fascinating.
yum...
I have and love my small decant of Espionage.
Nancy,
Unwashed drunks :) How unglamorous!! :)
Tom
indeed!
Dleep
I'd love a big spray bottle to wear copious amounts :)
Hmmmmmmmmm...you had me til you mentioned the vanillic base. Is this Guerlain-territory vanilla base?
Tammy
No, not nearly as plush.
Spy? Me? Nah... I was too young and impressionable when I read The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. But the perfume sounds interesting, I wrote down the address with a sympathetic inks, memorized it and ate the note. Do I need a special passcode?
I'm too shy for espionage. John Muir is more my kinda guy :-)
There's been an inSCENTence in China
Undina,

Dirtysturdy,
