Objects of Desire at Les Senteurs

Reading the latest newsletter from Les Senteurs was a torture. It made me wish that I a) still lived an hour and a half bus ride from London and/or b) was not on a strict no-buy. Here is the new stuff that they have:

Twill Rose by Les Parfums de Rosine, £49.50-65.00
Love in White by Creed in limited Edition Gold 250ml Decanter bottle and Silver Gold Refillable 75ml Atomiser, £100.00-155.00

Oiro by Mona di Orio, £90.00-130.00

Oh, wouldn't living 15 miles from London be heaven? That short trip into the city to shop? Paris only a train ride away?

When I was little and watched "Bewiched" reruns I really wanted to have the power to zap myself from here to there instantly: I still want that. I'd love to wake up early and zap myself into a late afternoon to the Palais Royale, Harvey Niks and Santa Maria Novella and be back for a nice sandwich at Susina in LA for lunch?

Good old Europe : within few hours you can spend money in Galerie Lafayette in Paris and Harvey Nicks in London, and even manage it without any extra hurry.
Funny, just ordered few samples from "les senteurs" yesterday... I'm very much looking forward to my next London trip in early May and to Easter in Paris (but i'm afraid, my credit cards are already looking for places to hide themselves !)
Due to this blog my list of desires is growing with the speed of light... .

Tom,
Ooh, if I could power-zap, here is what I'd do. I'd zap myself to London-Paris-Milan for some nice shopping (I assume power-zaping comes with the ability to make money out of the air, miraculusly :-)) Then I'd zap myself back home to Russia and ...well, I'd probably stay there for a very long time :-)

Lady Jane,
As they say, "they [you credit cards] can run, but they can't hide!" :-D
Which samples did you order?

Deep sigh. I wept over that newsletter as well. To be able to take a bus to London....sob! I didn't see Bewitched till I was an adult, but I still dream of being able to twitch my nose and be anywhere I want. And have all the 'fumes I want. :-)

...to take Oxford Tube, get off at Oxford St in London, do a bit of shopping. Visit Les Senteurs, Ormonde Jayne, maybe Harrids...go bargain shopping in Hammersmith, buy bagfuls of kiddie clothes for GBP 2-3 at Primark. *wails* Why did I leave England?

Oh dear, poor Colombina is homesick. How could we help you dyewushka?
I ordered :
Maitre parfumeur et gantier (Secrete datura, Bahiana, Baime, Eau de camelie chinoise)
The different company (Rose poivree)
Caron (Pour un femme)

Colombina, what do you think about Mandy Aftel's perfumes ?

Lady Jane,
This devooshka is definitely homesick :-(

Great samples!!

I tried a couple of Aftel scents. The only one I remember, and not fondly, is Cacao. I highly recommend reading reviews of it on Makeupalley. They are as hilarious as the scent itself :-)

a bit late for this, sorry! I had a LOVELY day last thursday - the day it snowed in London. I'd booked it off work anyway as I was meeting friends for tea(!) at the Wolsely in the afternoon. I spent the morning in Les Senteurs (such sweet helpful people) Harvey Nicks and Harrods - also Roja Dove on the fifth floor. Must say I was a bit shocked that the SA in RD hadn't heard of the new Chanels....I have been finding living in London a bit of a trial in recent years but Thursday certainly restored my faith.

Donanicola,
I turned an unattractive, envious shade of green reading about your day :-) *sigh*

Columbina, my day made me grateful all over again! ("whispers" did I mention Topshop in the evening? Or that Primark is opening a hooooge store the Marble Arch end of Oxford St? If you make it back over the pond for a visit I'll buy you tea in Liberty - lovely parfumerie there too...)
