My Favorites

Another Friday, another blog entry that isn’t a proper perfume review. This time for you amusement (heh), Ina of Aromascope and I present to you lists of our favorites sorted by perfume houses with no more than 5 scents per house. Not all of these are “holy grail” fragrances, but they certainly are the ones we love or at least like very much. To see Ina’s List, please go to Aromascope.

By the end of this post (provided you are still awake then) you will know pretty much everything about my taste in perfume and about the contents of my fragrance wardrobe. It would be only fair if you let me enjoy perusing the list of your favorites. Please feel free to list as many as you like in the comments section and have a great weekend!

A limit of 5 per line? Hands shake w/ anxiety just at the thought. My list would come very, very close to matching both yours and Ina's. Fortunately, you included some of the classic Diors and Patous that Ina must have accidentally overlooked. Am sure she'll correct that at some point...in the next two decades???? Sigh.

But I don't have enough time to add my $1,000,000 worth..no joke-

Also, the heat on Perfume Posse has me worn out already.

You know my tastes by now-if not, remember Kurt Weill's "Jenny":

"There once was a girl named Jenny
Whose virtues were varied and many"

[Just substitute 'virtues' for 'tastes']...

One day, when we meet [and I sincerely hope we will !], I'll sing it for you...

Great w/e, all-
I'm off to the salt mines, myself [every other w/e, 12 hour shifts...more like 13-14, actually] !

E,
I sort of forgot about it in summer. It's ever so lovely in cold weather. I have to get some more. It's perfect for "nestingT at home, in one's old dressing gown and comfy slippers...I realise it is probably very far from what the creators intended, but it's cozy and fluffy on me :-)

Quite a few surprises on your list, M. for instance, Cuir Russie is only number four on your Chanel list! I thought it would be at least no. 2, after BdI, or even 1, before BdI. Also, Hiris is your #2 of Hermes, and you have yet to review it. I was sure, you had grown tired on the scent or something. Another surprise was that Eau de Reglisse was your no.1 Caron! Really??
It was a very interesting read, M. Thank you. I'm too lazy to make my own list this morning.

Oops, I missed that! (In Best Tim Gunn Voice) Carry o~n.
What did you think of the finale, M? I was a little disappointed. Not b/c I hate Jeffrey, but because I truly didn't think his was the best. I liked both Uli's and Laura's better. Michael's was SUCH a letdown. I had loved him all season, and he made THAT?!!!

1:55 PM EDT
Blogger Marina said...

M,
I was so happy with the finale :-) I thought the best man won although I did like Uli's collection a lot. I am having a bad case of wiwthdrawal from PR. I am even thinking of doing something about it on Monday...like what scent they all should wear...or something...how sad am I. :-)

Well, no need to make a list of my own, lilyofbp did most of the work for me!

I would only add more Serge Lutens - Un Lys, Datura Noir & A La Nuit, and Parfum Sacre to the Caron list, and we are pretty even.

Oh, and lilyofbp is an Ubar fan as well - faultless taste! ;-)

Seriously, everyone's lists are great, I just wish I had samples of everything to try. I am just getting started! Every time i think I know what I like best, someone goes and reviews something I just HAVE to try. Right now I am wishing for Lonestar Memories and most of the Montales. Then my favorites list will be even longer, I am sure.
